Researching Existing Solutions

Locals have been trying various DIY solutions for years! While some work better than others, there was no product dedicated to repelling greenheads.

Starting Our Research Journey

We used our initial research to formulate version 1.0 of our greenhead repellent in both spray and lotion formulations.

Testing & Iterating

We went out to where they thrive multiple times per day. Keeping track of effectiveness and testing different variations.

First Bottles & Feedback

We bottled our best performing lotion and spray formulas and started giving them out to family & friends. We received great feedback, the product was working.

We Kept Testing the Products

Luckily, greenhead season doesn’t last too long. We kept testing the products daily, tracking effectiveness and protection time until there were none left.

Building the Business

We’d meet regularly to build the business together. With each call we made progress. We knew we’d have a busy winter ahead of us.
